1. About this policy
DRIFT ACTIVE is an Australian business operated by Luke Hall as a sole trader ("DRIFT ACTIVE", "we", "us" or "our"). We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can contact us about it. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to your information being handled as described in this policy.

2. What we collect
We only collect what we reasonably need to run our store and look after you. This may include:

  • Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and shipping and billing addresses.
  • Order details such as the products you buy, order history, returns, exchanges and refunds.
  • Payment details, which are processed securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details if you create an account, such as your login email and preferences.
  • Messages you send us, including customer support emails and social media messages.
  • Marketing preferences, such as whether you have subscribed to our emails.
  • Website usage information such as your device type, browser, IP address, approximate location, pages visited and how you use our site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
  • Content you share, such as reviews or photos you submit or tag us in.

3. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our emails, enter a promotion, leave a review or contact us. Some information is collected automatically when you browse our website. We may also receive information from service providers who help us run our store, such as Shopify, payment providers and Australia Post.

4. How we use it
We use your personal information to:

  • process, pack and deliver your orders, and handle returns, exchanges and refunds;
  • send order confirmations, shipping updates and other service messages;
  • respond to your questions and provide customer support;
  • send you news, offers and product updates, only if you have subscribed;
  • run promotions and giveaways you choose to enter;
  • understand how our website is used so we can improve it, our products and our service;

  • detect and prevent fraud and keep our store secure; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

5. Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails if you have subscribed. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Even if you unsubscribe, we will still send you service messages about your orders.

6. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business, including:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store;
  • payment providers, which process your payments securely;
  • Australia Post and other couriers, which deliver your orders;
  • email and marketing tools, if you have subscribed to our emails;
  • analytics and advertising platforms, such as Google and Meta, which help us understand our website traffic and show relevant ads; and
  • professional advisers, such as accountants, where needed.
    We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our customers.

7. Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Google and Meta, may store or process your information on servers outside Australia, including in Canada, the United States, Ireland and other countries. We choose reputable providers that take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. You can change your browser settings to block or delete cookies, but some parts of our store may not work properly if you do. You can also manage ad preferences through the settings of the relevant platform, such as your Google or Meta account.

9. Keeping your information safe
Your information is stored through Shopify's secure, PCI compliant systems. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you as required by law.

10. How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law (for example, tax records). When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de identify it.

11. Children
Our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 30 days. In some cases we may need to keep certain information to meet our legal obligations, and we will explain this if it applies.

13. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please email us first and we will do our best to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
